JOHANNESBURG – African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General, Gwede Mantashe said the party would look into the judgment of the court and only then decide on whether to call a special ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
This was after the Constitutional Court had found that President Zuma and the National Assembly had acted unconstitutionally with regard to the Nkandla matter,
Mantashe said he did not have the authority to declare a motion of no confidence against ANC President Jacob Zuma.
He said the ANC respected and accepted the judgment and would read it.
He confirmed that the top six leadership of the ANC would meet on Thursday to discuss the Constitutional Court judgment.
Commenting on Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane’s call for President Zuma to be impeached, Mantashe said that the DA look for impeachment every year.
