PRETORIA – Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is calling on the School Governing Body to apologise after racism allegations surfaced at a Pretoria school.
Lesufi suspended the code of conduct that refers to hair styles during a late night meeting at the Pretoria High School for Girls last night.
Many girls at the school say rules put in place are discouraging their blackness.
Some broke down claiming they’ve been banned from speaking their mother tongue.
Pupils also named teachers they want to see action taken against.
Lesufi says psychologists and a unit that deals with social cohesion will soon visit the school.
