The Kansas City Chiefs will take on Philadelphia Eagles in the 59th Super Bowl, with Chiefs aiming to make history by securing a rare three-peat in the sport’s biggest game night.
This marks the Chiefs’ fifth Super Bowl appearance in the past six years, having already claimed three titles during that stretch. Their last triumph over the Eagles came in 2023, when they edged out a thrilling 38-35 victory in Super Bowl LVII.
In 2025, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes once again played a crucial role, leading the Chiefs to a glamorous 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.
With that victory, Kansas City became the first consecutive champions in history to return to the Super Bowl, further solidifying their dominance. Now, two years after their narrow win over the Eagles, they meet again, this time with the opportunity to cement their legacy as an NFL dynasty.
Meanwhile, the Eagles secured their Super Bowl spot with an emphatic 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game.
Despite their dominant performance, betting odds slightly favour the Chiefs, with sportsbooks listing them at 5/6, while the Eagles stand at 1/1.
Both teams have delivered outstanding performances this season. The Chiefs suffered only two losses on their path to New Orleans, with one coming in the final regular season game against the Denver Broncos.
Head coach Andy Reid chose to rest Mahomes and other key players since the team had already secured the top seed. Their experience in high stakes games, combined with Mahomes’ exceptional playmaking ability, makes them a formidable force.
The Eagles have also been in impressive form, losing just three times this season. Led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley, who finished only 100 yards short of the NFL single season rushing record of 2005 yards, Philadelphia possesses a powerful offensive lineup capable of challenging the Chiefs’ defense.
Kendrick Lamar to Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show
This year’s halftime show will be headlined by Grammy-Award winning rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Lamar, 37, was announced as the headline act in September by Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation partners with the NFL to curate the Super Bowl halftime performance.
“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Jay-Z said in a statement.
“His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
While no additional guest performers have been confirmed, fans are eager to see if Lamar will bring out any guest performers.
