Joint intelligence driven operations conducted by various police units continue throughout the province.
In Seshego outside Polokwane, a 23-year-old man was arrested and one 7.65 pistol, a magazine and five rounds of live ammunition were seized.
Meanwhile in Makhdo outside Thohoyandou, five (05) suspects aged between 23 and 42 years old were arrested and recovered the following:
- Toyota Camry.
- Groceries valued at R8000,00.
The preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspects were terrorising the retail shops around the Tzaneen, Thohoyandou and Polokwane areas.
The fifth suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property after four bags of avocados alleged to have been stolen from one of the farms outside Louis Trichardt was found in his possession.
In Lulekani outside Phalaborwa, a 24 years old man was arrested for a series of burglary residence incidents at Matiko Xikaya village and recovered a samsung laptop valued R5000.
In Giyani, a 29-year-old man was arrested for a series of burglaries at residences after various suspected stolen property including two male trousers, one amplifier, one DVD player & one Rocksonic machine with an estimated value of R5000.00 were recovered.
In Dennilton outside Groblesdal, two suspects aged 36 and 38 were arrested during the raiding of illegal liquor trading and the following were confiscated:
- 96 bottles of liquor, 106 empty beer bottles, 19 different beer crates and dagga.
At the Groblersburg Border Post, two suspects aged 26 and 38 were arrested while travelling from Swaziland to Botswana via South Africa with a stolen Ford Ranger bakkie with Swaziland registration numbers and the vehicle was reported stolen on 17 January 2017 in Menlyn, Pretoria.
In Nebo outside Burgersfort, a suspected stolen motor vehicle was recovered but the suspect is still being traced.
The suspects will appear before various Magistrate’s Courts soon and Police investigations are still continuing.
