This was said in a statement released on Thursday by Sunusi Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson.
The announcement claims that the decision was made following a meeting of the Emergency State Security Council, which was devoted to discussing the growing unrest and violence that have resulted from peaceful protests.
Tofa claimed that during the emergency meeting, everyone agreed to impose a curfew in order to protect lives and protect both public and private property
“It is imperative that this curfew be implemented in order to restore order and protect our community.
“It is critical that we safeguard the integrity of our state’s institutions and businesses and protect our citizens from additional harm,” he declared.
The governor urged everyone to be watchful and unified at this difficult time.
“Let’s not let a few self-centered people’s acts split us apart.
He remarked, “Together, we can overcome these obstacles and strengthen our resolve to create a stronger, more resilient Kano State.”
The statement said that for everyone’s safety and well-being, all state security services have been instructed to guarantee that the curfew is strictly adhered to. Residents are advised to follow this instruction.
