Some residents of Galeshewe in Kimberley have taken to the streets, blockading roads with stones and causing traffic jams.

They are demanding that the Sol Plaatje Municipal Manager and Chief Financial Officer be fired, accusing them of abusing Municipal funds.

This follows a march against increased electricity tarrifs last week.

Residents say they are satisfied that the municipality decreased electricity tarrifs as per their other demand last week.

They have however vowed to continue with their illegal protest until action is taken against the two senior officials.

Police are monitoring the situation.
