HAMMANSKRAAL – It appears it’s back to business as usual in several parts of Tshwane on Wednesday after violent protests in teh last few days.
In Hammanskraal, where angry residents had blocked the N1 highway, community members are going about their daily business.
Taxis are operating, children have been walking to school and some petrol stations were already operating by 6.30am.
On Molefe Makinta highway in the area, which was blocked with large rocks and burning tyres, motorists had to navigate their way past a burnt-out truck and debris.
It was the same scene in Mabopane.
On Tuesday night, some residents went on a rampage, looting shops and setting others alight.
Community members also moved to the Morula Shopping Centre, near Morula Sun, where they damaged and looted shops.
Roads near the centre were on Wednesday littered with debris from overnight protests.
In Attridgeville, residents were also back to their day-to-day activities.
