Shortly after four armed suspects perpetrated a robbery at a liquor store in Van Riebeeck Road Kuilsrivier, their luck ran out when police were quick to respond. At 11:45 this morning the suspects threatened staff at the business with a firearm and fled the scene in a white Toyota Run-X with an undisclosed amount of cash a box of whisky. Police responded to the incident and spotted the vehicle fleeing the area, which led to a chase. In Summerville the vehicle was forced to stop and four suspects aged between 20 and 26 were apprehended. The firearm used in the robbery, a 9mm Norinco and the vehicle which was hijacked in Muizenberg on Saturday were confiscated. The stolen cash and the whisky were also recovered. Once charged, the suspect will make a court appearance in Kuilsrivier.
