HAMMANSKRAAL – Simon Mollo Modihe was the first casualty of the violent political chaos currently gripping Tshwane.
His family and friends are convinced the father of two was shot dead in a deliberate hit.
Modihe was murdered on Sunday while attending an event at which the ANC decided Thoko Didiza would be the party’s Tshwane mayoral candidate.
The police have not yet made any arrests.
Thami Mthethwa, Modihe’s close friend, witnessed the aftermath of his shooting, which happened outside the Tshwane Events Centre on Sunday afternoon.
He disputes reports that Modihe had been involved in a fight with his killer and said the shooter had been firing his gun into the air before the murder.
