The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will hold a memorial service for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in Brandfort in the Free State on Wednesday.

This as the official memorial service for Mama Winnie will be held at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

The party says the event will be held at her old home in Brandfort which government has pledged to transform into a museum.

EFF Spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says they hope this event will bring the transformation project up to speed.

“At 12:00 today, we will gather right outside the home which is supposed to be a museum. The motive of this memorial is that hopefully this will translate into the promotion and resolution of that house being transformed into a museum. Part of the things that we do very well is to put pressure on the ruling party to do the right things, and that’s the first thing so that our people can simply go there and remember Mama Winnie Mandela.”
