Thousands of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members are converging in Johannesburg this weekend for the party’s third National People’s Assembly, an event set to shape its future leadership and direction.
The conference, to be held at the Nasrec Expo Centre, will see delegates elect new leaders, discuss political and organisational reports, and review key policies.
Approximately 2,500 EFF members from branches across South Africa will begin the registration process at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto campus.
On Friday, members will gather at Nasrec to assess the progress made by the party’s leadership since its last elective conference in 2019.
This includes a comprehensive review of the EFF’s work over the past five years and an analysis of the party’s electoral performance and challenges.
The assembly will also adopt a new five-year action plan aimed at advancing the EFF’s mission and addressing issues within its electoral strategy.
As the red berets prepare for this significant event, the outcomes of the conference are expected to shape the party’s trajectory leading up to the next national elections.
