Joe McGluwa, the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts and Culture, extended condolences to the family and friends of South African soccer legend Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala, who passed away at 75 due to injuries sustained from a shooting in March.
Tshabalala, a respected figure in South African football, served as head coach during the country’s return to international soccer post-apartheid and was remembered for his coaching prowess and deep understanding of the game.
McGluwa emphasized Tshabalala’s significant impact on the sport and expressed that his loss will be deeply felt in the South African football community. Plans for Tshabalala’s memorial and funeral services are expected to be announced soon.
