DJ Rowick ‘Deep’ Stevens has passed on

The record label of Dj Rowick Deep shared the tragic news through a Facebook statement.

“It’s with great shock, sadness and a heavy heart that We inform the public that Rowick “Deep” Stevens was killed on Sunday 24th April 2016, Our deepest condolences to the Steven’s family and friends , further information cannot be divulged at this point of time as the matter is currently under investigation, we ask the members of the public and media to respect the Stevens’ family and friends at this time of grieving”.

Club DJ and house music producer, Rowick Deep’s void will be sorely missed in the house music industry of South Africa ,playing role with many firebrand releases such as 45 BPM mixed by Heavy D Krew (Rowick, Vernon and Dominique) and House vs Latino in the late nineties giving rise to the 45bpm phenominum that set South African dancefloors alight. Mid 2000’s in joining the Multi-Racial records stable Rowick pursued on to release a multiple release , including “Loxion House Kulcha” , mixed compilation partnership with Multi-Racial and Loxion Kulcha clothing brand , followed buy his debut studio album release “Music is Life” he followed up with a further solo album release “Unleashed” and further went on to collaborate with Auriol Hays on their 2015 collaboration album titled “Deep Hays” at the time of his passing he was busy on his 3rd studio album.
