Deputy president Paul Mashatile, has been receiving medical attention after being pulled off the stage during his keynote speech in Limpopo on Saturday.
Mashatile (62) had reportedly passed out from the heat.
According to Keith Khoza, Mashatile’s spokesperson, the deputy president is “fine” after a post-incident medical examination.
According to Khoza, the deputy president has already travelled from Limpopo to Gauteng.
The president and deputy president travel with a team from South African Medical Services (SAMS), which is in charge of the medical care.
Mashatile was speaking during the N’wamitwa Day Celebrations at Valoyi Cultural Village in Greater Tzaneen, Limpopo.
Temperatures in the region reached a blistering 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while the celebrations were in place.
