JOHANNESBURG – It is D-day for murder-accused Sandile Mantsoe on Wednesday as closing arguments are set to be heard, while judgment is set to be handed down on the same day.
Mantsoe is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Karabo Mokoena in 2017.
He has pleaded not guilty to three charges, including premeditated murder.
In a surprise move, Mantsoe’s defence team opted not to call any witnesses to support his claim that Mokoena took her own life.
Mokoena was last seen alive at the accused’s home.
Mantsoe has already admitted that he disposed of her body, but said he did so in a panic after she stabbed herself in the neck.
Her body was dumped in a veld and set alight.
