The deadline for motorists to renew any vehicle license disks that expired between March and May is the end of business on Tuesday.
Motorists were granted a grace period until today to renew their expired discs without penalty during the lockdown.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation says penalties will be issued for late renewal.
Penalties are calculated at 10% of the annual licensing fees per month.
Motorists may also receive a traffic fine of up to R1000 for operating an unlicensed motor vehicle on a public road.
Driver’s license validity
Meanwhile, the validity of driving license cards as well as learners’ licenses and temporary licenses and professional driving permits which expired or expire between the beginning of the lockdown and the 31st of August, are considered valid until the end of January 2021.
