City of Cape Town major six dams reach 54 percent

The water level of the biggest dam in the Western Cape, Theewaterskloof, has reached the 40% mark.

At the same time last year the dam, which is one of the six major dams feeding the City of Cape Town was only 20% full.

The others are the Berg River, Upper and Lower Steenbras dams, Voelvlei and Wemmershoek.

Collectively, these dams have now reached 54, 7% a remarkable improvement from last year’s 26%.

Provincial Environmental Affairs ministerial spokesperson, James-Brent Styan, says this news is pleasing.
