Minister in The Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni stated on Thursday in Pretoria, during a press briefing, that this resolution is not only important for South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) but also noteworthy because developed nations like Spain, Belgium, and Japan joined many countries from the global South in backing it.

In light of the escalating conflict in Sudan, the Cabinet urged all Sudanese citizens to follow the guidelines set by the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development to resolve the conflict.

“South Africa is prepared to offer its expertise to help the involved parties and other relevant stakeholders work together towards achieving lasting peace in Sudan,” the Minister added.

Additionally, the Cabinet acknowledged President Ramaphosa’s working visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho at the invitation of King Letsie III. “During this visit, the President participated in the 58th Lesotho Independence Day and Bicentennial Celebration, and he also delivered remarks to honor the rich heritage of the Basotho Nation,” Ntshavheni noted.
