MAHIKENG – Academic activities will resume today at the North West University’s Mahikeng Campus.
It’s been a month since the campus was closed down following violent protests, when some buildings were set on fire.
The university says it’s deployed extra security to ensure the safety of students and staff members.
Some students were unhappy over the new Students Representative Council – appointed by the campus principal.
Many returned to campus yesterday, amid tightened security.
The mid-term break has been shortened by a week to make up for lost time.
In addition, Saturday classes will be introduced.
