JOHANNESBURG – Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly shot and killed a school teacher and wounded his son on Tuesday morning.
The son is recovering in hospital.
They were attacked in an apparent armed robbery in Azaadville Krugersdorp.
“We are investigating a case of murder and robbery. The men took two cellphones during the robbery,” Gauteng police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said.
“The man was declared dead on the scene while his son was transported to hospital.”
The shootings come two weeks after a similar incident in the area.
In that instance, a 65-year-old man and his 29-year-old son were killed, also in an apparent armed robbery.
Dlamini however stressed that at this stage the two incidents are not linked and they are still investigating.
