JOHANNESBURG – The assault case against kwaito music star Arthur Mafokate is expected to resume in the Midrand Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Mafokate faces charges for allegedly abusing his ex-girlfriend and musician, Busisiwe Twala known as Cici.
The incident Mafokate is accused of took place in June and allegedly caused Thwala to undergo a pelvic replacement operation.
Twala opened the case against him in June, claiming he dragged her through the streets with his car.
Singer Cici has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault laid against her by musician, Arthur Mafokate.
It comes after Cici had laid charges of assault against Arthur, alleging a June incident left her in hospital needing a pelvic replacement.
The Kwaito star has asked for mediation, but Cici wants the matter to go to trial. The court is expected to hear the NPA’s decision today.
Cici’s recent music video serves a metaphor for the domestic abuse she experienced with kwaito music star.
