A miner has died at the Sibanye-Stillwater‘s Khomanani mine at the Driefontein operation in Carletonville West of Johannesburg.
Sibanye has so far this year claimed over 20 lives of workers at different shafts. Sibanye-Stillwater says in a statement that the miner entered a scraper path and was caught by the scraper.
The board and management of Sibanye-Stillwater extend their condolences to the families, friends of the deceased.
An investigation into the incident will be carried out by management, together with the Mineral Resources Department and other stakeholders.
