JOHANNESBURG – South African sprint champion Akani Simbine enjoyed the best possible start to this Olympic year as he broke his own 100m national record in Pretoria on Tuesday night.

Simbine completed the feat competing at South Africa’s Nite Series event at in Pretoria with a time of 9.96 seconds.
