On a tragic Tuesday morning, IPSS Medical Rescue & IPSS S&R responded to a devastating head-on collision on the N2 near Zinkwazi. The impact left multiple victims critically injured and claimed the life of one passenger at the scene.
Emergency responders arrived to find the driver of one vehicle in critical condition, while one of his passengers sustained serious injuries. Unfortunately, his second passenger succumbed to fatal injuries before medical personnel could intervene.
The driver of the second vehicle suffered severe critical injuries and was trapped inside the wreckage. The extensive damage to the vehicle made the extrication process extremely challenging. Under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics, the Kwadukuza Fire Department and IPSS S&R worked tirelessly to free her from the twisted remains of her car.
After a lengthy and meticulous rescue effort, the trapped driver was successfully extricated and stabilized before being rushed to a medical facility for further care. Other injured victims were also transported to various hospitals, receiving urgent medical attention for their injuries.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, urging motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads.
