Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, made this statement to reporters from the State House following President Bola Tinubu’s Monday Federal Executive Council meeting.
According to Idris, the government is already working to ensure that food is available and is meeting some of the demands expressed by resentful Nigerians.
“Many of the issues being raised by those organizing the protest are being addressed,” he declared. The administration is working to guarantee food availability
“Rice is being sold for N40,000 at a number of locations throughout the nation. This is only the first, essential stage in the process. There are ongoing initiatives.
“The agricultural sector is receiving a great deal of investment, and we think that as time goes on, food prices will decline.”
According to the minister, the president thinks the government is responding to the inquiries from young people
“Student loans ensure that no young person who wishes to attend school is left behind,” he continued. The transportation problems will be fixed by the time the CNG runs its entire course.
