JOHANNESBURG – Lawyers acting for Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan say he won’t be able to respond to questions over the so- called SARS Rogue Unit,by 4pm on Tuesday.
They said the Minister has only just started consulting with his legal representatives.
The 27 questions were sent to Gordhan days before the budget speech.
His lawyers said he didn’t want distractions to jeopardise the budget process.
Gordhan said there’s no reason for the Hawks to investigate him.
He’s since threatened legal action to protect his credibility and that of the National Treasury.
Gordhan also claims that those behind the probe are not interested in the country’s economic stability.
