PRETORIA – The African National Congress (ANC) in Tshwane comments on the latest accusations made by the public against Kgosientso Ramokgopa. The Executive Mayor of Tshwane was allegedly involved in the rigging of vote for the nominations of ward Councillors. This led to a group of people outside the home of the parents of Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa yesterday in Atteridgeville as reported by media publications.

Contrary to what most media houses wrote, it was an amicable discussion that was not a riot or a mob protest as detailed. Residents are outraged at the story and believe these stories are nothing but fabrications and lies to damage the reputation of Kgosientso Ramokgopa.

One of the residents at Attridgeville, we spoke to this morning said ” there were a group of people here, no singing , no dancing , no sticks , stones. We are a peacefully community and the reporters for these papers must be checked. We were all here to see what was happening, when we heard people screaming but when we got here, there was a rubble burning and people standing all around.

The picture above was taken by a resident that lives opposite the Mayor’s parents home. The ANC, Tshwane region says it will launch a full investigation into the alleged vote rigging of ward Councillor nominations ahead of the municipal elections this year. Tshwane ANC represntatives ensured the public of a report after the findings have been detailed. However ANC members maintained that the facts of the accusations are sketchy and not valid ” it is election time and many anti-ANC tactics are put in place  to disorganize the ANC and its membership.

That is not the Ramokgopa home, but a home 3 houses away. Dragging mayor’s name into this is bizarre. @ewnupdates https://t.co/vST8pdWpLA

We could not meet with a named community member stated in newspapers as Gordon Rabodiba, no one around the home of parents knows the name, He gave the statement most media houses listed as the basis of the stories.

the community wants change and that means Ramokgopa must step down. “He has chosen his own people and how is that fair for the opposing side auditing membership? They are going to rig votes and that has happened says Gordon Rabodiba. The Mayorial office was contacted this morning for comments, but there was no one available to respond to press.
