Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela was at a loss for words after their stunning 3-1 loss at the hands of Chippa United on Saturday.

The Chilli Boys came back from behind after Siphiwe Tshabalala gave Chiefs the lead at the Nelson Mandel Bay Stadium.

In the second half, the Port Elizabeth club secured the points through a brace from Lerato Manzini and a strike from Tshwarelo Berelong.

“The goals we conceded today were just the same, and for whatever reason why, you don’t have to explain, just own up,” Komphela told SuperSport in an after match interview.

“Similar goals coming from our left and we conceded like that [again], we just have to take it and move on.

“Like they always say, victory has many fathers and loss is an orphan. I’ll own up and take this one, it’s on my shoulders and it’s part of the responsibility of leadership and being a coach, so you have to take it.

“You can cite all the excuses, it counts for nothing, take this thing on your chest, on your chin and that’s how it is, there’s nothing I can do about it. Just own up and take it.

“If you have no power, what message can you pass on? Just have to move on, gather strength, and if you don’t have enough strength, play harder.”
