Umgungundlovu North Cluster Crime Intelligence members conducted various operations in their policing area from 22 February 2017 until 26 February 2017. A total 23 of suspects were arrested for various crimes including possession of unlicensed firearm, possession of drugs, rape, house breaking, assault grievous bodily harm, theft, drunken driving, robbery and liquor related offences. The cases was opened at various police stations within Umgungundlovu Cluster for further investigation and the arrested suspects appeared at the different magistrates courts.
The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa praised the members for their efforts made in the united fight against crime. “All stations within the cluster will also engage in daily and special weekend crime prevention operations in order to eradicate and minimize crime in our communities,” he said.
