COVID-19 has highlighted the absolute vital importance of meticulous hand hygiene as it is crucial in the
prevention of contracting this virus. Revlon South Africa will be donating 10,000 hand sanitizers to the Gauteng
Department of Health to assist the country’s front-line heroes working tirelessly to combat the spread of the
virus.
Revlon South Africa has joined the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, in so doing launched a new product under its brand called Aquamarine. It is said that the manufacturing of the hand sanitizers has started at its local factory in Isando.
“As soon as we became aware of the dire need for this essential product, we challenged our R&D and
manufacturing division to urgently develop a high-quality hand sanitizer. I am proud to announce that this was
performed in record time and today we are able to donate 10,000 bottles to the Gauteng Department of Health.
It is important for us to assist the country in these challenging times”, says Tarryn Gordon-Bennet, Managing
Director of Revlon South Africa.
The Aquamarine Instant Hand Sanitizer will be available in a 250ml squeeze bottle. The formula consists of
75% alcohol, keeping hands clean and free of germs.
Dr. Pascaline Hughes of the dermatological testing lab in Sunninghill believes more skincare specialists should produce products. She believes they understand the skin and would ensure formulas and balance that doesn’t harm the skin, considering the rate at which the market is flooded with untested products.
