Newly appointed North West Premier Job Mokgoro says he hopes his tenure as Premier will be looked at as an opportunity for collective leadership.
He says the process is aimed at accomplishing collective, rather than individual goals, and it requires collective and coordinated action.
Speaking on Morning Live Mokgoro says: “I will be in front, but I will have anchors who have the same goals and vision.”
Mokgoro was officially sworn in as a member of the provincial legislature last week.
He takes over the reigns after Supra Mahomapelo’s early retirement, and after weeks of violent protests against the former premier.
He says though the province has been put under administration, it is important to put mechanisms in place that will ensure sustainability.
“We must not loose sight of a sustained effort. North West must be able to sustain itself once this period of administration comes to an end,” says Makgoro.
