The Democratic Alliance (DA) has expressed concern over the announcement that some social grant beneficiaries would have to pay R10 on bank charges each month.
Sassa announced in Parliament that grant beneficiaries who access their funds using ATM’s will have to pay R10 in bank charges.
The DA’s Shadow Minister of Social Development Bridget Masango says, “Now they have to pay R10 out of the already insufficient grant that they are receiving. And we believe, this has to be rejected because the incompetence and the mismanagement of Sassa and the agency is not the fault of the beneficiaries.”
