Kimberley – Immigration officer Mshudulu Mvuleni (37), at the Department of Home Affairs appeared before Kimberly Magistrate’s Court on charges of corruption and contravening the Immigration Act on Monday 22 May 2017.
Mshudulu Mvuleni, was arrested on Friday, 19 May 2017, at the Immigration Offices in Kimberley. It is alleged that Mvuleni approached a foreign national who submitted an application for work permit and demanded R4000 to ensure that the documents are processed successfully..
The victim paid R500 and was further subjected to more demands for money, which were reported to the Hawks.
Mvuleni was granted R1000 bail and the matter was postponed to 30 June 2017 for further investigation.
