JOHANNESBURG – The two men convicted of the murder of Chanelle Henning five years ago are due to appeal their life sentences in the Supreme Court of Appeal on Thursday.
Henning was shot by two men on a motorbike in Pretoria shortly after dropping her son off at a crèche.
One of the convicted killers, Andre Gouws claims Chanelle’s husband, Nico Henning, offered him a million rand to have her murdered.
Gouws then hired Ambrose Monye to find hitmen to carry out the murder.
The two shooters pleaded guilty to Henning’s murder and were sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Gouws and Monye were given life sentences.
The trial of Nico Henning, who is accused of masterminding the murder of his wife, is set to begin on 10 October.
