While the internet has been filled with a lot of racism and hatred this past week. There has been something exceptional that has revealed the true nature of South Africans to the world.

Parts of the country’s Free State and KwaZulu-Natal provinces were declared disaster areas earlier last year because of a lack of rainfall while areas of the Western Cape, which contains Cape Town, are suffering one of its worst droughts in 75 years.

The dearth of water has slashed corn, wheat and sugar production in farming areas and will soon affect urban dwellings. Weaker river flow also threatens water quality. South Africa is the 30th-driest nation on Earth, according to the government, which expects water demand to outstrip supply as early as 2025.

The persistent heatwave conditions which continued during the festive season contributed to the drought, While the bulk water supplier did not have any major demand issues during the holidays, the heat had caused higher than normal levels of evaporation in the areas affected. This water shortage crisis is the worst drought since 1992.

In just less than hours of the report, social activists and general South Africans took to the media and social network to garner support for fellow citizens and farmers in need of water.

EXCLUSIVE PAINTS – Drop off AreaAll 1000L containers can also be offloaded here. Trudie and her lovely team has offered the use of their forklift to offload.

The projects were all initiated to cater for the water needs of drought stricken areas, with an endless list of volunteers and donations, these awesome community groups have created a chain of support for those that really need it. The drop off centers that have been created around the country have been receiving countless water drop offs from different people till date.

Amanda Magolisa who was one of the recipient at the Smithfield drop-off told us ” I am really happy that these people have come from far to hear our prayers, I have not been able to take a bath, because i need the 15Liters left to cook and rub my children, we really appreciate and want to say South Africa, we need water”

Today I was humbled by this very special group of people. I requested help on this very group and within 2 minutes…
