How do you get in?
It’s a valid question. There is no obvious way in or out of the FFZERO1 — but then again, there is no obvious reality in this car.
Faraday Future is one of the most hyped companies at CES this year, and has been one of the most hyped companies in the entire auto industry over the last several months as media and analysts have tried to figure out exactly what it’s doing, where its money is coming from, and who they are. Tonight, we have some of those answers — much of the money is coming from China’s LeTV, a self-described “Netflix of China.” But the FFZERO1, a 1,000-horsepower electric concept car that isn’t real, doesn’t do much to answer anything else.
Still, it’s a wild car, penned by Richard Kim of BMW i3 and i8 fame. I seriously don’t know how you get in or out. I also don’t know why you’d only want a single seat, apart from the obvious explanation that this is a race-bred concept — a far, far cry from Faraday’s vision as the be-all everyman’s ride operating under a unique subscription model.
Faraday’s Nick Sampson says that we’ll see real cars in “a couple of years.” I don’t know what they’ll look like, but I can say with certainty they won’t look like this.
