JOHANNESBURG – Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba says travellers who don’t comply with the biometric system at OR Tambo international Airport will be sent back home.
Several foreign travellers have complained about the check-in system launched last year.
Gigaba says this was introduced to enhance security and ensure that the immigration system will not be abused.
He put the delays down to poor queuing and travellers who didn’t check in on time.
The minister says it’s increased the number of staff at the international counters but adds that the biometric system is here to stay.
